Computers represent mental processing, intellectual work, and the logical mind. A malfunctioning computer suggests cognitive overload, confusion, or an inability to process information. A computer virus may represent toxic ideas or corrupted thinking. In modern dreams, computers increasingly represent the boundary between real and virtual life. Being unable to use a computer may reflect feeling outdated or unable to keep up.

Darkness

Darkness in dreams represents the unknown, the unconscious mind, and fear of what you cannot see. Complete darkness suggests being 'in the dark' about something important. Fear of the dark reflects fear of the unconscious and its contents. However, darkness can also be a womb-like, protective state — a necessary emptiness before new creation.
