Island vs Rainbow

Island

Islands represent isolation, self-sufficiency, and refuge from the overwhelming 'ocean' of emotions or life demands. A tropical island paradise suggests a desire for escape and rest. A deserted island reflects loneliness and self-reliance. An island you can't leave represents feeling trapped in isolation. Islands also represent the conscious self surrounded by the vast unconscious (the sea).

Rainbow

Rainbows appear after storms and universally symbolize hope, promise, and beauty emerging from difficulty. A rainbow in a dream may indicate that a difficult period is ending and beauty is ahead. In Biblical tradition, the rainbow represents God's promise. In many cultures, the rainbow is a bridge between earth and heaven. The full spectrum of colors represents wholeness and the integration of all aspects of self.
